...encore Magazine has been dedicated to giving the Port City, an alternative voice. We’re the area’s most trusted source for art, entertainment, theatre, dining, and much more.

encore focuses on the cultural scene of Wilmington, North Carolina. We cover issues of local interest; profiles on area personalities; event coverage; feature stories; visitors’ information; and music, movie, theatre, book, and dining reviews.

Studies have indicated that our readers are primarily active adults, with disposable time and income and a strong interest in what’s going on in the community.

Surveys show that we have slightly more female readers than male readers (52/48), and the average age of an encore reader is 42. Our regular readership ranges in age from 18-80, but most of the readership is in the 25-48 age range.

The common thread amongst all encore readers is that they are keenly interested in events, issues of local interest and activities. encore’s focus is on local events, entertainment, dining, theater, music and general happenings. Our average reader has financial stability, a college education, and an active lifestyle. During summer months, we are also popular with visitors interested in finding out more information on things to do and places to go in the Porty City.
