Artfuel.inc is located at the corner of Wrightsville Ave. and 17th st. From its location, which used to be an old filling station, we seek to fuel art by providing a space for artists to exhibit and connect with each other as well as providing art as fuel for the public mind. Resident artists are available to view at work and to take commisions in the studio alongside the gallery.

Now Showing until late July, Artfuel Exhibit Vol. 15, featuring paintings by Margaret Robbs, Katherine Blackwell, Gaeten Lowrie and Casey Dupree. Also featuring sculpture by Anne McCombie. Artists reception is Thursday, June 5th from 7 to 10pm

Voted Best Art Gallery in encore, Bottega is located in historic downtown Wilmington. The contemporary art gallery continues to showcase the innovation of both regional and international artists with a focus on canvas, paperworks and sculpture.

In addition to monthly exhibitions, the gallery also offers a full service bar area with an eclectic list of fine wines and craft beer with several organic varieties to choose from as well as daily specials and free weekly wine tastings on Wednesdays at 6pm.

Current Exhibit: "Primal Forces," showing through June 7th, with opening reception on May 23rd, 7pm. A solo exhibition of landscapes and figures featuring Janette Hopper.

Creations by Justine Gallery, a working studio and gallery focusing on sculpture, presents "The Art of Assemblage," a show of sculpture made from antiques and clay by Florida artist Melissa Menzer. Melissa salvages bits and pieces of old clocks, tools, cans and broken furniture to create sculptures that reflect the past and are reborn into the present.

Now showing an exhibit by resident artist Justine Ferreri called "The Seafood Buffet." Justine will by presenting a menu of seafood sculptures, like shrimp cocktails, clams casino and mermaids as the catch of the day. Both Shows will hang through May. The new exhibit at The Golden Gallery is entitled "A Beach Life." It features the watercolors of Mary Ellen Golden and the photography of John W. Golden. You will enjoy pelicans and waves, a foggy journey down the waterway, and views of new and old piers.

"Paper Works" will open on Friday, May 23rd and run through June 21st featuring the works of Rebecca Humphrey and Susan Mauney. Humphrey is best known for her mixed media pieces using hand cast paper and taught art at James Madison University in Virginia until her recent retirement. Southport resident Susan Mauney works in watercolor and has received numerous awards in national and regional competitions. The exhibition will combine her landscapes, still lifes and figurative work with the more abstract mixed media pieces by Rebecca Humphrey. An opening night reception will be held on Friday, May 23rd from 6-9 pm, which is also a Fourth Friday Gallery Night event in downtown Wilmington.
