encore first wrote about JJ Grey’s soulful and relatable sound back in 2010, showcased well within “Georgia Warhorse” released earlier that year. When he returned in 2015 with “Ol’ Glory,” he told us that Greenfield Lake is “in the heart of what a bunch of the songs I sing are.”
This week saw another sold-out show at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater with the return of JJ Grey & Mofro (above photos by Tom Dorgan), along with The Commonheart, on Wednesday night.
The Commonheart (above photos by Tom Dorgan) has opened for JJ Grey in the past at GLA. Led by singer Clinton Clegg, it’s no wonder this powerhouse of bluesy, soulful rockers returned for parts of Grey’s 2019 tour. Their set was filled songs from their latest sophomore album “Pressure” (August 2019).
