8PM HURRICANE DORIAN UPDATE: Queen Bitch is arriving

Dorian is 30 miles off the Cape Fear, according to the National Hurricane Center NOAA 8 p.m. report. Do you have your cocktail ready? Are all of your snacks eaten? Did you take your vicodin? Are you blaring Bowie’s “Queen Bitch,” yet?

Here’s the skinny: winds have narrowed to 100 mph (still a Cat 2, folks) and she/he/ze/it is trekking at 10 mph. Winds are high, flooding is happening, tornado watches will still be in effect, and don’t be a dummy and go out in it, OK? Leave that to good ol’ Cantore, who is down in Kure Beach, and from what my mom tells me, “He’s standing in a puddle when he doesn’t need to be.”

So, in other words, buckle down, pour another cocktail, cheers your dog/cat/partner/kids/lizard/walls, and be smart. Like don’t forget to blow out all your candles before bedtime. And be good to your neighbors and fellow Wilmingtonians.

Oh, and send us your pictures of what you’re doing so we can post them on our IG @encorepub.
