Located on the Riverwalk in the heart of historic downtown, The George on the Riverwalk is the perfect venue to host your big event or enjoy a casual night out with friends or family.  Cape Fear River creates the perfect backdrop for any occasion and boasts the most beautiful sunsets around.  The George has something for everyone, featuring fresh seafood, steaks and chicken along with vegan options.  Choose to dine inside, outside or pull up a seat at our fully-stocked bar!  We are pet friendly and the only restaurant on the river offering “dock & dine”. Closed Monday. Open Tues. – Fri., 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

COURSE ONE – CHOOSE ONE:

Butternut Squash Bisque  (GF) — Roasted butternut squash, simmered with carrots, celery, onions and our proprietary flavorings, puréed and topped with housemade crème fraîche

Water Street Salad (small)  Mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, red onions, shredded Parmesan cheese and croutons, with choice of dressing (creamy gorgonzola, ranch, honey mustard, balsamic vinaigrette, or creamy lemon-basil vinaigrette)

Caesar Salad (small)  Classically prepared chopped romaine with shredded Parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing and croutons

COURSE TWO – CHOOSE ONE:

George’s Shrimp & Grits  (GF)  Sautéed shrimp, garlic and Applewood-smoked bacon, tossed in a white-wine cream sauce, served over stone-ground white cheddar grits, garnished with diced tomatoes, scallions and shredded Parmesan cheese

Classic Fish & Chips  Lightly fried cod, served with beer-battered fries, coleslaw, cocktail and tartar sauces 

Firecracker Shrimp Burger  Five large shrimp, lightly fried and tossed in Buffalo sauce, served open-faced on a brioche bun, with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion, served with beer-battered fries
